  • Meng’s Theme (Christian Smith & Wehbba Remix)
  • Meng’s Theme (re-mastered 1994 original)

Next up on Gem Records is the Point Blank AKA Secret Cinema classic Meng’s Theme that served as inspiration for Adam Beyer to start making techno. The re-release is part of the SILVER project celebrating Secret Cinema’s 25 years in music and comes with a brand new remix by Christian Smith & Wehbba. The EO is ready to hit digital stores on August 19th. A total of nine Secret Cinema classics will be re-released with remixes both digital and vinyl as part of the box set SILVER. Meng’s Theme is a soaring techno cut with driving drums, raw percussive patterns and that signature synth jab. The sort of track to really take floors high in the peak of the night, it is a real assault on the senses. Tronic label boss Christian Smith then links with fellow techno titan Wehbba to remix and in their hands the track is a more deep, rolling and rubbery affair with icy hi-hats, slick bass and hi ten soul vibes that will fill hearts with real emotion as it drives along. The Silver box set will be limited to 500 pcs, numbered and signed by hand. A real collector’s item and a luxury boxset never before seen for an electronic artist. SILVER contains a customized USB stick with all productions ever made by Secret Cinema up until his latest creations. Also included are three vinyls with all new remixes (listed above and including the Meng’s Theme remix), A CD with 4 live sets from the past 3 decades, a greatest hits CD, a new documentary about Secret Cinema (with Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Michel de Hey, Benny Rodrigues) the animation film Barcode from 2003, artwork and photo’s, and to top it all off: a floppy disk with all the samples from Sonar System (1991) like the one Verheij used in his Amiga 500. Unlike most legends, Verheij has his eye on the future and prefers to develop rather than look back. It’s a good thing Gem Records and Mary Go Wild decided to document Secret Cinema so far
